Terms of use
Last updated: 24 September 2026
These terms cover the DelayAhead website, accounts, flight information and alerts. "DelayAhead", "we" and "our" mean the service offered under the DelayAhead name. Please read these terms before you use the service.
1. What DelayAhead does
DelayAhead helps you look up flights, see recent flight history and our own delay estimates, and get alerts through the channels offered to you. What we can show depends on the flight, the airport and the data available from our providers.
DelayAhead is an independent information service. It is not an airline, an airport, a travel agent or an official source of operational notices. Looking up or following a flight doesn't book, change or cancel a ticket.
2. Flight information, history and predictions
Schedules, reported status, estimates and history can be late, incomplete or wrong. Flight numbers, aircraft, gates and times can change. A prediction is an estimate, not a delay announced by the airline and not a promise about when a flight will leave or land.
History shows the records we have for the period shown. The last five flights are a small sample and don't by themselves tell you how likely your next flight is to be late. Missing records and changes in route or conditions can affect comparisons.
Check the date and time zone shown. Times are local to each airport, which may differ from your device, and a flight can land on a different day.
3. Your travel decisions
Always confirm important details with your airline and airport, and follow their check-in, bag drop, security and boarding deadlines, even when DelayAhead shows a delay. A later estimated departure doesn't move those deadlines.
We can't promise that you will make a flight or a connection. Allow time for your own situation, such as bags, mobility needs, border checks and moving between terminals. Nothing here changes your ticket conditions or your passenger rights.
4. Accounts
You don't need an account to check a flight or get alerts. If you want one, you can sign in with Google, with Facebook where offered, or with a link we email you. Use contact details you control, keep sign-in links to yourself, and don't use anyone else's account. If you think someone got into your account, tell us straight away.
You must be able to agree to these terms under the law that applies to you, or have permission from a parent or guardian where that is needed.
5. Alerts and extra recipients
Alerts are optional. Email alerts start only after you confirm your address; Telegram alerts start when you press Start in our bot; WhatsApp alerts, if offered, start when you send the prepared message. We check tracked flights about every 10 minutes, so an alert depends on when new data reaches our providers and when we next check. Network problems, provider outages, spam filters and device settings can delay or stop a message.
No alert doesn't mean a flight is on time or unchanged. You can add up to three extra email addresses, such as a driver's. Only add people who expect it; each of them has to confirm before getting anything.
To stop alerts, use the link in any alert email, Stop alerts in My flights, or send /stop to our Telegram bot. If you use WhatsApp alerts, reply STOP. Stopping alerts doesn't cancel a booking, and a message already on its way may still arrive.
6. Free to use
Checking flights and getting alerts are free and don't need a payment card. To protect the service, there are limits on how many checks and sign-ups can be made in a short time. We may improve, change or stop features, and will give reasonable notice of important changes where we can.
Using the free service never allows us to charge you. If we ever offer paid features, you would choose them separately, and we would show the price, billing period, renewal, cancellation and refund terms before you pay.
7. Feedback and messages
Be honest in feedback and reports, and only share information you are allowed to share. Don't send passwords, payment details, identity documents or other people's private information.
What you write stays yours. You allow DelayAhead to store, read and use it to answer you, look into problems and improve the service, free of charge. That doesn't allow us to publish your contact details. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your details.
8. Fair use
Don't get around our access controls or limits, interfere with the service, send spam, pretend to be someone else, upload harmful content or try to get in where you aren't allowed. Don't use bots or scripts to check flights in bulk or copy data from the site. Flight data comes from licensed providers and can't be resold or passed on in bulk.
9. Our content and other services
DelayAhead's own content and software, and data, images and maps from others, stay with their owners and are covered by their licences. Using the site doesn't transfer those rights to you. These terms don't take away any rights an open licence or the law gives you.
Other websites and apps we link to, such as Telegram or WhatsApp, have their own terms. We don't control what they do or whether they are available, and a link doesn't mean we endorse them.
10. Privacy and news emails
Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your details. Agreeing to these terms or asking for alerts is not agreeing to marketing. DelayAhead news is a separate, optional choice that only counts once your email is confirmed. You can withdraw it at any time through the contact page without losing anything that is free.
11. Availability, suspension and leaving
Maintenance, security problems or provider outages can affect the service. We may limit access when it is reasonably needed to protect people, look into misuse or follow the law. Where it is practical and lawful, we will explain why and give you a way to tell us if we got it wrong.
You can stop using DelayAhead at any time. If you have an account, you can stop alerts and delete your account in My flights, or ask us to delete your data through the contact page. Our Privacy policy explains how long we keep data and how deletion works.
12. Our responsibility and your rights
We try to show useful information and to fix errors we find, but we can't promise complete coverage, a service that never goes down, that every alert arrives, or any particular outcome for your trip. These limits describe the service; they don't remove responsibilities the law puts on us.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Your consumer rights and data protection rights stay as they are.
13. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters for account holders, we will tell you on the site, and by email where it makes sense, and ask you to agree again where the law requires it. A change never allows charges or marketing you didn't choose.
